Partnering with Hospitals to Help Cancer Patients in Need

Rhonda Stefanski

In 2014, Rhonda Stefanski was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. Our family learned many lessons during that difficult time, including how much financial hardship many cancer patients go through. Though Rhonda lost her battle that November, one of the gifts she left for us is Rhondaโ€™s Kiss.

Rhonda's Kiss is a 501c(3) that focuses on patients' non-medical needs. We give grants to select partner hospitals to establish patient assistance funds that are focused specifically on cancer patients in need. The patient assistance funds, administered independently by each hospital, help in covering the costs of rent and utilities, wigs, oncology massage, parking, or other transportation costs, as well as any other unexpected cost involved in the holistic care of the patient. Currently, Rhondaโ€™s Kiss has patient assistance funds at Cleveland Clinic (OH, FL), Cedars-Sinai (CA) and City of Hope (CA). Please note that partner hospitals are determined by the geographic location of the family and we do not have an open grant process.

During the last five years, Rhondaโ€™s Kiss committed $2 million to our chosen partner hospitals around the country. It is through your assistance that we are able to realize our dream to give all cancer patients the access to support that our wife and our mother received during the most difficult time in her life.

We appreciate the love and kindness we have received and with that care, we will continue to help those who need it the most during their cancer journey.

From the bottom of our hearts,
